Sophie's 6th Birthday
Today is Sophie's 7th birthday. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I remember when I first met her and she wasn't even 2!
Usually we go down to Vancouver/Portland for her birthday. Her mom throws a party every year. But this year, we can't :( Mike just started a new position out at the hospital and a new schedule. He is working weekends now and it was way too soon to ask for time off. Fortunately, we just saw her a few weeks ago.
Come to think of it, we haven't even heard any plans of a party this year... Sophia's mom just had a baby boy last summer and has seemed a little pre-occupied with him. I really think Sophia feels left out. She was sooo sad when we had to take her back home after our visit. She said her parents are boring and so she just stays in her room and bangs her head on the wall. Doesn't that just melt your heart? I feel aweful for her and wish so badly that she could live with us.
